Mitel and Micro Focus: Testing solutions to ensure Unified Communications reliability

One of the important elements of the VoIP industry segment is innovating and designing new technologies. To that end, companies need ways to test their solutions and make sure they are up to snuff with the current expectations of customers. Mitel, a provider of unified communications (UC) software, is adopting Micro Focus' Silk solution for quality testing across its line of products and solutions.

Mitel has been using Silk during the design process of its solutions to identify defects and solve them before the solutions end up in the hands of customers. The solution allows the UC producer to reduce development costs while increasing speed to market and customer satisfaction The SilkTest solution from Micro Focus helps Mitel solution get closer to the 99.999 percent reliability that companies have come to expect from their telephone systems.

"In today's fast paced development environments, integrated design and verification can become complicated very quickly," said Karl Wagner, manager of Mitel's software design environment in a release. "We've been using SilkTest for more than eight years and use it to test combinations of end user interactions, product versions, and different types of products. SilkTest is an important part of our delivery environment and enables us to get to market very quickly with a variety of quality products."
