Mobile killer app?

In the hot mobile space there have been a spate of start ups and announcements, with the latest to come from South Africa start up, Yeigo, which has announced an application called Yeigo Lite. Yeigo Lite is compatible with all handset which can support Java (J2ME) handsets and although it does not offer free calls it does offer cheaper rates for calls and SMS. It also offers chat with all the major operators, Yahoo, MSN, Google talk, AIM and ICQ. 

Yeigo 2.1 has also been released and is offering free calls with other Yeigo 2.1 operators. Other players in this burgeoning space include Fring and Truphone. Will the VoIP tsunami obliterate the over-priced cellular services?
