More predictions from the peanut gallery

Tools

Before the holiday break, FierceVoIP made some predictions about 2007. Why should I have all the fun? Other publications suggested that 2007 will be the Year of VoIP Applications, that Microsoft will take over the VoIP world as Nortel exits and that VoIP will help drive teleconferencing. Other predictions are that 2007 will see great penetration of dual-mode wireless phones and a growing threat to cellcos from muni WiFi. On the other hand, the crystal ball-gazers see cellcos fighting back with new 3G networks that can also handle mobile VoIP. What I'm not hearing is any prediction of disruptive change--which pretty much by definition is not something that anyone can predict, but is something that everyone had better be looking out for.
