MS Exchange hosting provider, Intermedia, launches VoIP offering
Intermedia, a Microsoft Exchange hosting provider launched a hosted PBX service that's integrated with its hosted Exchange email service.
The new combination of VoIP and hosted exchange services means Intermedia customers now have access to some of the cool features one expects from unified communications (UC) including voicemail to email as well as click to call functionality.
The Hosted PBX feature set will be managed by the system Intermedia uses for its other services--HostPilot Control Panel. Intermedia decided to launch this service after it got a number of customer requests for a hosted VoIP feature to go along with their Exchange service.
"Many SMBs who are still using basic telephone service to run their business will benefit from the professional image a hosted PBX service like Intermedia brings. Through the Intermedia offering, companies can set up Exchange-based unified communications--enabling employees to manage email and voice services from Outlook," says Michael Osterman of industry analyst firm Osterman Research.
