netTalk Duo hits Walmart.com shelves
As recent reports have pointed out, VoIP is getting more and more mainstream. If you've ever been in a 7-11 you know you can pick up a magicJack from right behind the counter. The magicJack low-cost home VoIP competitor netTalk Duo is now available to the masses through retail giant Walmart's website.
The netTalk Duo answers the compalaint that you need to have your computer turned on and connected to the Internet to use your magicJack VoIP service. The Duo connects to a user's router and provides VoIP service without the need for a computer. The device costs $70 and offers free nationwide phone calls to any landline or mobile phone in the U.S. and Canada from anywhere in the world for the first year as well as DUO-to-DUO calls free to anywher in the world. After the first year the service is $29.95 a year.
magicJack is also working on a computer-less solution to be released later this year.
