Network Hardware Resale looks to grow pre-owned network gear business in APAC

Tools

As businesses increasingly look to take advantage of growth in the Asia-Pacific market, one network equipment reseller--Network Hardware Resale--is looking to make an impact by helping companies keep their expansion costs low.

NHR, which supplies pre-owned and new networking solutions, said it is planning to aggressively build its presence across Asia-Pacific.

During a NHR event last week, IDC analyst Matt Healey estimated that the 2011 worldwide enterprise market will surpass $38 billion. He suggested companies should look to "adding an alternative procurement channel" as one way to reduce networking capex. It "just make good business sense," Healey said.

NHR chief executive Mike Sheldon said demand for the company's hardware and maintenance services has grown significantly over the past year.

"In Asia-Pacific we have helped customers save well over $62 million since we started our business in the region in 2007," he said. "We've seen phenomenal growth at more than 300 percent since then and continue to expand in this market."

The company, based in Santa Barbara, Calif., is an independent reseller of pre-owned Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO), Foundry and Juniper (NYSE: JNPR) networking equipment as well as an authorized reseller of resilient, scalable equipment from Force10 Networks.
