New versions of SameTime coming

IBM's unified communications platform, SameTime, keeps expanding its footprint, with more features in one direction and an entry-level version in the other.

Version 8.0 of IBM's real-time communications platform will include features like persistent chat, and will position the product for integration with Symphony (the once-and-future office productivity suite) and the Eclipse open standard.

SameTime Version 8.0 is the next step in IBM's SameTime roadmap, which includes vastly improved communications capabilities along with the possibility of customers to buy only as much SameTime as they need, transitioning from less functionality to more as their business needs change.
