Nokia bows VoIP bizphone

Tools

Nokia rolled out a new VoIP-ready handset this week with the E51 candybar. The newest addition to the E enterprise series of handsets is said to have a smoother interface and easier navigation. The dual-mode, GSM/WiFi unit will hit the market later this year at a suggested retail price of $485.

The handset features a 2 megapixel camera and an FM radio in addition to the regular voice, text and e-mail functions, and integrates with a wide range of phone clients. Nokia is counting on the cost-savings of enterprise VoIP adoption to move the E51. Certainly the continued introduction of dual-mode handsets can't hurt the adoption of VoIP.
