Outsourcery, Polycom bring advanced cloud-based UC to Microsoft Lync

Polycom and cloud-based solutions company Outsourcery have teamed up to bring some new features to Microsoft's Lync unified communications (UC) system.

Outsourcery is partnering with Polycom to extend its capabilities for customers of Outsourcery's hosted Microsoft UC solutions. The company will deploy Polycom's UC Intelligent Core infrastructure to deliver next-gen cloud-based voice and video collaboration services in the cloud. Outsourcery will offer the services via the cloud which will allow enterprise customers to use the new capabilities on a per-user, fixed-cost basis without the need for costly new hardware or infrastructure. 

Outsourcery customers will be able to use the Polycom UC Intelligent Core escalate instant messaging chats or voice calls to video conferences from within their Microsoft applications over the cloud. The offering allows Outsourcery to scale point-to-point calls into large, multi-point conferences and to combine any type of video and voice call.
