Panasonic's Communications Assistant 3.0 updates user inferace of UC solution
Electronics company Panasonic (NYSE: PC) has been popping up more and more on the radar in relation to their business telephone systems. Today they announced thay they've enhanced their Communications Assistant (CA) productivity software suite.
CA, a PC-based software application suite is basically one of Panasonic's answers to the unified communications (UC) space. Various iterations of the software include the CA Basic Express which allows users to manager communication from the PC while Pro offers voicemail control from anywhere in the world as well as chat and IM. The Supervisor version allows managers to look over all employee call activition visually. The VM Assistant component provides PC voicemail access and management as well as voicemail to inbox audio files. The suite also offers an Operator Console which provides receptionist assistance with drag and drop call transfers.
The new Communications Assistant 3.0 features point-and-click call control; instant messaging; visual voice messaging; Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) Outlook integration; door telephone and sensor control; IP camera integration and control; call history, calls made/missed, and supervisor group call monitoring and management. It also offers "drag and drop" on-screen icons so callers can visually manage teleconference locations; remote location call monitoring; busy signal override, and detailed status reporting.
