PhoneFusion releases bargain UC product

Not a lot to report out of the Internet Telephony conference in Florida this week other than the weather, but one announcement that caught our eye was PhoneFusion's new product upgrade giving small business access to the best of VoIP tied with a useful unified communications feature. What sets their offering apart is the very low entry price with professionals able to access the service for as little as $3.95 a month.

Features being added include a desktop control center, a softphone application that allows the computer to work as a telephone, the ability to record and deliver announcements based on time and a voicemail application that centralizes multiple voicemail boxes and allows people to see a list of their voicemail messages right on their mobile device. Also included is a click to call application for websites and a Call Me Now function that lowers the cost of expensive outbound calls.

But it is the ability to deploy this powerful suite at ultra-low prices that's its most competitive feature and a definite alternate option for SMB's wanting a managed transition to IP communications.
