Polycom, Motorola team to put enterprise telepresence on XOOM tablet
Motorola and Polycom have announced that they are collaborating to put Polycom's enterprise-class, high-definition (HD) personal telepresence on Motorola XOOM tablets.
"Leveraging Polycom's innovation and leadership in telepresence, Motorola will help businesses easily extend their video initiatives to Motorola XOOM, thereby expanding mobile collaboration for workers. For consumers, the Motorola XOOM video experience will set a new standard for quality and performance," said Christy Wyatt, Motorola Mobility's corporate vice president of software and services product management.
Motorola XOOM has a dual core processor, a front-facing 2-megapixel camera for video conferencing and a 10.1" widescreen HD display, making it optimal for HD enterprise collaboration. The offering will leverage the Polycom UC Intelligent Core infrastructure platform and is set to be released in the second half of 2011.
