Polycom posts positive Q4 on UC and video demand
Things are looking good for the industry, and in particular certain companies. Polycom (NasdaqGS: PLCM) has reported fourth quarter financials and has shown some impressive revenue growth.
Polycom revealed last week that the company's made $340 million in revenue for the fourth quarter. That's up about 27 percent over fourth quarter of 2009.
Andrew Miller, Polycom's CEO, explains that the positive numbers come down to increasing industry demand for Polycom's unified communications (UC) products and web video technology. Both in business and at home, people want to be able to see who they are talking to.
Miller says the company's success of late is the result of unified communications and interoperability moving into the spotlight for business communications, adding that he is pushing to grow Polycom with agressive plans to target China, Russia and Brazil as well as the realms of cloud and mobile services.
