Report: 40 million IP telephony devices to be sold in 2015

Tools

2015 will be a big year according to the recent reports from industry analysts. This week In-Stat chimes in with some good news for IP telephony device makers.

According to the research company's latest report, IP telephony devices sold worldwide will be more than 40 million units in 2015. As VoIP sales increased last year, analysts predict the trend will continue into the near future. More companies are turning to VoIP for their advanced communication needs. Interestingly, analysts also saw that corded phones would continue to dominate the next five years, despite the rise of the mobile market--a prediction that sort of contradicts a report from Insight Research last week.

The report entitled The Worldwide IP Phone Market: Wired, DECT, and Wi-Fi also noted that cloud computing was set to expand significanly over the next few years.
