Report: Mobile VoIP gateways spending to cross $6B in 2015
FierceVoIP readers are no strangers to the idea that mobile VoIP and unified communications (UC) is on the rise. The latest report from In-Stat gives further fuel to that fire.
Mobile VoIP gateway equipment suppliers have a rease to rejoice as more companies look for ways to take their workforce mobile with all the savings and effeciency of VoIP and UC. Expenditures in mobile VoIP gateways are expected to rise far beyond the $6 billion mark in 2015 according to In-Stat. Additionally, business mobile VoIP users will increase tenfold over the next five years.
"Mobile VoIP has only recently begun being implemented in the business environment," says Amy Cravens, Market Analyst at In-Stat. "One of the key benefits of mobile VoIP for enterprises is extending desk phone functionality to mobile devices. Business-oriented solutions will essentially enable the users' cellphones to become an extension of their desk phones and will deliver, in addition to voice, a unified communications experience, including email, IM, and collaboration."
