SIP Forum brings on new management

The SIP Forum, an industry association dedicated to advancing the adoption of SIP-based IP communications products and services, has re-elected VoIP pioneer Richard Shockey to the board and has made him chairman. Along with his election, Eric Burger from NeuStar was re-elected and Alan Johnston of Avaya was elected to the board.

The SIP Forum announced that Marc Robbins would continue his roll as managing director and president of the forum. Other members on the SIP Forum board include Chris Gatch, CTO of Cbeyond; Steven Johnson, CEO of Ingate Systems; Glenn Russell, director of business services at CableLabs; Rene Sotola, a VP at CGI Group; and Robert Sparks, principal engineer at Tekelec.
