Sipera's UC-Sec solution gets Common Criteria cert
When switching to IP there is always a concern that your communications need to be secure and one way companies and government agencies can know IT security is up to standards is with the Common Criteria certification. Sipera's unified communications (UC) offering just got that certification.
The Sipera UC-Sec security appliance detects and mitigates security threats on SIP trunks, VoIP, video, messaging and collaboration tools for a single platform. It provides enterprise core network security, including IP PBX protection, VLAN separation and compliance enforcement. The Common Criteria certification is recognized by 26 nations around the world and represents a global standard for IT security. The certification is sometimes a requirement of government entities and enterprises concerned with IT security.
"This critical certification reflects both Sipera's UC security market leadership position, and our commitment to providing unparalleled security for government and other security-conscious customers around the world," said John Lochow, President and CEO of Sipera in the release. "By satisfying the government security assurance requirements encompassed by the Common Criteria, Sipera can assure its customers that our UC-Sec appliances have been independently tested and meet precise industry security standards."
