Skype continues mobile conquest on SonyEricsson

Tools

The carriers have certainly been spooked recently about the cost of their data plans and the seemingly imminent deluge of data traffic from users. They've reined in their unlimited plans and replaced them with buckets. If Skype's launch on almost every mobile platform is an indication, we will certainly be burdening those data networks sooner rather than later.

The new release from Skype will work on Symbian-based smartphones including Sony Ericsson's Satio, Vivaz and Vivaz. The application will allow free Skype-to-Skype calling to anywhere in the world allowing users to save on their monthly phone bills. Users will be able to receive calls to their Skype number on their phone as well as import their contacts.
