Snom rolls out trio of UC-ready desktop IP phones

Tools

Snom is targeting the growing unified communications market with a trio of new desktop UC-ready phones.

The aptly named snom UC line includes two updated phones, or "UC edition" units, the snom 300 and snom 821, and the new snom UC600. All three are qualified for Microsoft Lync under Microsoft's Compatible Devices Program. The new snom UC600, is designed to be an inexpensive, purpose-built Lync phone.

The line expands support for features included in Lync, like presence, quick dialing from Lync buddy lists (on the snom 821UC edition) and more.

"These three new phones are just the start," said Dr. Michael Knieling, executive vice president of marketing and sales at snom technology. "In the near feature snom's entire product portfolio of business IP phones will be qualified with snom UC Edition firmware and become part of the snom UC line, providing businesses with a broad array of of IP endpoints optimized for Microsoft Lync available on the market."

All three phones can work in a pure UC environment or a hybrid UC and IP PBX environment.
