Verizon iPhone users may be limited to using Facetime on wireless. |
The latest rumor from 9to5Mac doesn't do a whole lot to flesh out that rumor, but it does throw some cold water in the faces of Verizon (NSYE:VZ) subscribers who have iPhones. Citing a "previously accurate Apple source," 9to5Mac said Verizon likely won't be allowing FaceTime over 3G on its network because the two have yet to reach agreement on the details.
But that may be just a delay.
Verizon iPhones, as MacRumors points out, haven't always kept pace with software updates, another sticking point between the two companies still in negotiations. Current Verizon iPhones support iOS 4.2.8, you need iOS 4.3.3 or later to dabble with some of the features available from Apple's recently released iCloud, namely automatic downloads, purchased content listing and iTunes in the Cloud.
