Spirit supplies voice and video IP platform to China Mobile

We normally focus on the US, but sometimes big things are happening abroad as well. Look at Spirit DSP, a carrier-grade IP communications company, and their voice and video IP deal with China Mobile.

This week the company announced a deal with China Mobile that its TeamSpirit platform is now powering the latest release of Fetion--China Mobile's unified, cross-network communication IM service that seamlessly connects Internet and mobile subscribers. Fetion has been developed by ASPire Technologies, a subsidiary of China Mobile. For the Fetion platform, ASPire has licensed the TeamSpirit Voice and Video Engine for PCs and Mobile as well as the Conferencing Engine which enables massive multipoint video servers supporting up to 1,000 concurrent videos per server. The software will allow video conferencing for office productivity, social networks, multiplayer video games and IM.

China Mobile is the world's largest mobile operator with more than 560 million subscribers, so this service is hitting a lot of people.
