Spotlight: 88% of healthcare orgs permit BYOD
The Ponemon Institute is brilliant at casting a critical eye on data security. Now, the latest benchmark study about the healthcare industry reveals that nine out of ten healthcare organizations (HCOs) have experienced at least one data breach in the past two years. And incidentally, 88% of those same HCOs let their employees and medical staff use their own mobile devices to connect to the HCO network to exchange information and receive e-mail. My longtime friend and colleague, Richard Santalesa, digests the information and concludes we're not even close to compliant in the healthcare space.
