Spotlight: Samsung may strike a blow against passwords everywhere


A few months after the debut of Samsung's Galaxy S5 smartphone, folks are beginning to notice the inclusion of a fingerprint reader--a biometric security system built into what should easily become one of the world's most proliferated devices. In another example of smart implementation, Samsung has partnered with PayPal in making this component instantly usable, which now brings up the whole question of whether biometrics can be used in place of passwords in security and single sign-on systems.
