SPOTLIGHT: Spam a user problem says Skype
Skype spam, otherwise known as Spim is on the rise. But while Skype is proud of its general security, it has made it clear that Spim is a user problem. Skype Journal has detailed the main techniques the Spim masters use, including running spiders for all public Skype names and scripting new Skype accounts running on multiple clients. Most interesting was Skype's response, which in summary was caveat emptor (buyer beware). Skype Journal's conclusion: don't release your Skype address and keep your account unlisted except for those in your contact list. Report
