SPOTLIGHT: SPIRIT to power Joip

Spirit sees itself as the Intel of voice technology--its technology powers many of the voice chips that now populate the world's VoIP phones and much of the conferencing and audio applications. Based in Moscow--with over 80 engineers--the company has been deep in the voice space since 1992 and continues to be a powerhouse in the voice engine arena. Spirit's only serious competitor is Global IP Sound, a West Coast start up. Last week deltathree selected SPIRIT's DSP's TeamSpirit 3.0 Voice Engine PC to upgrade its PC phone and Joip consumer brand. Joip is the newly formed consumer brand of deltathree that powers the VoIP service of Panasonic's Globarange hybrid landline/VoIP phones. Report
