SPOTLIGHT: UC technology speeds manufacturer's development cycle

Forrester has released a report looking at the benefits for industry segments from adopting unified communications. It looks at the financial, education and manufacturing verticals and finds quite different benefit outcomes. Taking manufacturing as an example, Forrester said UC technology was helping firms accelerate their product-to-market cycles. This was seen as a key improvement at a time when slow response to changing market conditions in hyper-competitive environment places companies at a distinct disadvantage. UC technology was also helping improve the actual production process through more timely management responses and monitoring.
