UTStarcom takes VoIP to Pakistan telco 
UTStarcom of Alameda, Calif., announced it struck a "multi-year, multimillion dollar deal" with Bell & Tell, Pvt. Ltd., to provide voice and data service in Pakistan. The service will be built on USTarcom's Gigabit Ethernet passive optical network, or PON, and its VoIP gateways. Bell & Tell plans to extend the service to more than 100,000 subscribers within three years. Details
