SPOTLIGHT: Will Canada's new VoIP rules keep prices high?
There are now complaints that Canada's abolition of rules against VoIP are anti-consumer. As part of of the CRTC's lifting of the VoIP ban, regulators let VoIP carriers set rates freely while holding legacy carriers' prices as is. Trouble is, some say, that will let VoIP carriers set rates artificially high because legacy carriers won't be allowed to challenge them. This is why economics makes my head hurt. Article
