On Monday, AT&T announced support for existing H.323 compatible video conferencing systems with AT&T's Telepresence solution. The company also announced it is going to double the number of Cisco TelePresence rooms deployed at AT&T around the globe.

By the end of Q2 2008, companies will be able to connect their H.323 videoconferencing solutions with AT&T's Telepresence solution, providing more options for interworking between diverse videoconferencing and telepresence solutions, such as between H.323 and high-end Cisco TelePresence solutions.

AT&T also announced that it would be expanding its own use of its telepresence product. Currently, AT&T has more than 25 sites in the U.S. and globally, and it plans to double the number of Telepresence rooms by the second half of this year.

AT&T's telepresence solution uses Cisco TelePresence hardware combine with AT&T's VPN transport; Cisco three-screen and one-screen options are available.
