Telecom services company deploys Whaleback's CrystalBlue across field offices

Whaleback Systems has announced that UniTek Global Services, a telecommunications services company, is deploying Whaleback's CrystalBlue Voice VoIP service in its multiple branch offices as part of an expansion effort.

With its corporate headquarters in Blue Bell, PA, UniTek manages over 110 field offices that support a workforce of over 5,000 people. The company plans to expand it CrystalBlue deployment to 60 of its branch offices over the next 18 months. All locations use the WhaleBack system's 4-digit extension calling, call forwarding, 3-way calling and voicemail forwarding to other extensions or email. UniTek has also deployed Whaleback's OrcaFax service and its softphone client at a number of locations as well as the OrcaMeeting service to support up to 80 conference lines.

Whaleback Systems introduced CrystalBlue Lite, a VoIP offering for carriers with SIP trunking services, back in April and gave FierceVoIP a preview of the system at VoiceCon. The new solution allows service providers to offer high quality managed voice to SMBs with no CAPEX investment by building the cost of the appliance into the OPEX costs. Targeted at the underserved 5-20 user market and combined with a carrier program with bundled offerings, the new product brings affordable customized hosted VoIP to a difficult market segment.
