Toshiba adds IPedge, a pure IP business phone system to lineup

IPedge, a new IP business telephone system announced today by Toshiba America Information Systems' Telecommunications Systems Division, is a Linux-based single-server solution designed to be powerful, affordable, reliable, and easier to administer.

The platform accommodates multiple unified communication applications on a single server, including call processing, voicemail and unified messaging, native SIP line and SIP trunk support, mobility, survivability, centralized administration of all sites and feature-rich telephone endpoints. IPedge also accommodates with additional servers' add-on applications, such as meet-me conferencing with Web collaboration, uMobility Fixed Mobile Convergence and Call Center solutions.

"IPedge empowers SMB and enterprise users to communicate more effectively, be more cost effective and have greater access to their customers, partners and each other," said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division.

The system is available in three models that support up to 40, 200 or 1,000 users per server.
