Vodafone goes FMC in NZ

Tools

Vodafone is rolling out an interesting deal in New Zealand that could have major impact on the FMC market. The idea is that mobile calls placed within 2 kilometers of a home base will be routed through the PSTN and will be free. Outside of that, calls will be carried on the usual GMS network. Regulators have given the preliminary OK. A similar plan was implemented in Germany last year.
