Remember: The decentralized design of the Internet was specifically meant to allow routing disasters. With the hurricane season now upon us, business continuity and recovery should be high on customers' to-do lists. It's worth remembering that when Katrina took out New Orleans' telecom infrastructure last summer, emergency workers relied on a VoIP connection to talk to the outside world.
