Tools

ALLVOI is targeting a VoIP deal to Indian expatriates and workers in the United States, offering a $14.99 per month calling plan for six months that includes unlimited U.S. and Canada calling plus 500 free minutes per month to call India.

The ALL India 500 International Unlimited Plan was launched on New Year's Eve and has no activation fee. Subscription is done online and includes free activation; a phone adapter will cost an additional $9.99. After the first six months of service, the cost per month is $24.99. Additional minutes to India beyond the first free 500 minutes cost 2.5 cents per minute. There is also an additional cost to port an existing number.

Marketing pitches position the service against the cost of other VoIP services that cost $24.99 per month plus around 15 cents per minute for calling to India as well as the cost and hidden fees associated with prepaid calling cards.

ALLVOI isn't unique in its marketing focus. Over in the U.K., Vyke has rolled out plans targeted at Asian expatriates, finding at least 40 percent keep in touch with friends and family in their home nation and often rack up huge cellular and text message bills in the process.
