VoIP rumored for Apple's Leopard OS

Tools

Apple's got a new operating system--code-named Leopard--coming out later this year. Although developers will get their first look in August, the rumor sites are already churning. One of the pebbles the sites have tossed up is the possibility that the new version will include native support for VoIP in the built-in iChat application. iChat can already do voice and video conferencing among AIM and Jabber users as well as users of the proprietary .Mac service. But VoIP-calling would extend that, presumably, to other VoIP services and the PSTN.
