VON: Spirent launches protocol tester

There are more than a couple of management and testing tools being shown at VON. Spirent says it's shipping its Protocol Tester, which it touts as a simple and flexible tool for testing IMS or VoIP element, function or service anywhere on a network. One of the complaints about IMS, of course, is that it is overly inclusive. Spirent says its new tester comes with many pre-defined test cases, but lets operators add, remove and customize their own protocol message headers and payloads.
