Vonage prepared for IPv6 shift, are you?

Some analysts have predicted an Internet doomsday much like Y2K with the impending depletion of IPv4 web addresses, and many VoIP companies have been put on alert. Vonage, at least, is ready for the upgrade.

According to Vonage's (NYSE:VG) Theresa Hennesy, senior vice president of network operations, the company has been working on its internal network to make the shift to IPv6 seamless for customers by accommodating the IPv6, IPv4 hand-offs on the network end-to-end. The company also plans to move to a dual-stack environment using devices that work with both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
