Welcome, Microsoft

There's this little software startup up near Seattle you may have heard of. It's called Microsoft and it's bidding to get into the VoIP business. The company just launched a private beta of a product called Office Communications Server 2007, which adds VoIP features to an unimportant piece of enterprise software called Exchange. These Microsoft guys have cut distribution and interoperability deals with other small vendors like Nortel, Cisco, Lucent and Avaya. You might want to keep an eye on what those wacky startup guys are up to.
