Whaleback intros CrystalBlue Lite managed voice
Whaleback Systems has introduced CrystalBlue Lite, a new VoIP offering for carriers with SIP trunking services. The new solution allows service providers to offer high quality managed voice to SMBs with no CAPEX investment by building the cost of the appliance into the OPEX costs. The new product targets the underserved 5-20 user market and combined with a carrier program with bundled offerings will bring affordable customized hosted VoIP to a difficult market segment.
The company has upgraded their solid state plug and play device to create CrystalBlue Lite a new carrier-class IP PBX appliance that resides at the end customer site. Features and settings can be managed and upgraded off site and installation involves little more than the end user plugging it in and the device auto-installs the pre-chosen bundle services.
"We look like hosted except we're premise based; we have this premise based device that's remotely managed," said Dave Zwicker, VP of marketing at Whaleback during an interview with FierceVoIP at the recent VoiceCon trade show. "So what we are doing in our next release is we've implemented our software onto this low end appliance, we've created bundle packages so that especially lower end customers down in the 5-20 user segment can buy very simple plug and play bundle solutions where SIP trunks are a part of that, and we've created a carrier partner program where we will go to market with the carriers" to help get those organizations into these markets they haven't been able to easily access in the past, he explained.
